Step One - Backup Your Previous Template
You should always keep a clean, untouched copy of your blogger template (before you've made any changes to it). You should also make a backup copy before modifying it or installing a new template. That way, if something goes wrong, you can just install one of your backups and nothing is lost.
1. In your Blogger Dashboard, click on your blog's Template page from the menu.
2. Click on Backup/Restore in the upper right corner.
3. Click on Download Full Template from the pop-up.
4. Save the .xml file (your blogger template) to your computer.
If you ever need to install the backup template, you do that in the same way you would install a new blogger template.
Step Two - Install Template
.xml - It's ready to go! That is the file you upload to Blogger.
.zip or .rar - You need to open/unzip it first. Open the folder and drag its contents to a location on your computer.
Go to your Blogger Dashboard and then your blog's Template page.
Click on Backup/Restore in the upper right corner. In the box that pops up, click Choose File.
Then find your template (.xml file) where you saved it.
Step Three - Setup Social Networking Icons
The social networking icons are set up using a Link List widget. Edit the widget and add your social media URLs to the "URL" field and the corresponding icon code to the "Name" field. I have included the most used icons below. If you need more, you can get them from FontAwesome.
Heart (Bloglovin, etc):
Plus (Follow, Bloglovin, etc)
RSS (Feed url, follow, etc)
An Image Widget is used for the About Me / Welcome section. For the image to be displayed correctly, it should be square and a minimum of 200x200 pixels.
Menu / Navigation Links
A Page List widget is used for the main navigation. Simply add your pages and links when you edit the widget.
